Real World’s 25th season returns to Vegas in March 2011
Many true Real World fans will say the last of the best seasons was Real World: Las Vegas (Season 12). Cast members Alton Williams, Arissa Hill, Irulan, Frank Roessier, Brynn Smith, Steven Hill, and Trishelle Cannatella partied it up at The Palms Casino Resort and delivered quality hook-up sessions, scandals, fights, and more from the very first episode. Now that the Real World is about to enter its 25th season, MTV has decided to bring the show back to Las Vegas. The new cast has some gigantic shoes to fill, this time at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, and I’ll be anxiously awaiting until March 2011 when it will air.
Here’s an excerpt from MTV’s press release below:
“As ‘The Real World’ starts production on its 25th season, we are excited to bring the series back to Las Vegas – a city that MTV’s viewers love,” said creator and Executive Producer Jon Murray. “Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a fantasy destination and will undoubtedly serve as the eighth roommate and we can’t wait to see what Sin City has in store during this monumental season.”
“We are very excited to partner with MTV and their hit reality show series ‘The Real World’ for the 25th season in Las Vegas,” said Joseph A. Magliarditi president and chief executive officer of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. “We recently completed our $750 million expansion which includes the addition of SKYBAR, Reliquary Spa and a luxury suite tower. We look forward to hosting the new cast.”
“The Nevada Film Office is very excited to have MTV’s ‘The Real World’ return to Las Vegas. The first time here proved to be excellent exposure for the city and the NFO is always happy to assist any MTV production that visits our state,” added Charlie Geocaris, Director of the Nevada Film Office.
“The Real World” launched the modern reality television genre and is the longest-running reality series in history. Past seasons have taken place in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, Chicago, Las Vegas, Paris, San Diego, Philadelphia, Austin, Key West, Denver, Sydney, Hollywood, Brooklyn, Cancun, D.C. and New Orleans. The first season, set in New York City, debuted in 1992. Each season, the show brings seven young adults to live together in a new city and the cameras roll 24-7, witnessing as their lives intersect, their ideas are challenged and their passions emerge.

Lauren Elaine plans Spring 2011 Black Label couture collection
LOS ANGELES (24-7PressRelease) — Los Angeles based, celebrity fashion designer Lauren Elaine plans big for the spring/summer 2011 season with an inspired Black Label couture dress collection, and a unique Los Angeles Fashion Week unveiling. The new collection, inspired by several recent trips abroad and her signature “modern-princess” design aesthetic, will see a campaign and short film shoot in the desert of El Mirage, CA on Friday September 17th, 2010, and a formal runway debut on October 19th. For the collection, designer Lauren Elaine combines easy glamour with an assertive edge, and themes of escapism and adventure to create a woman reminiscent of James Bond’s leading ladies. The SS2011 campaign will be shot by photographer Jeff Gottlieb, and will predominantly feature a collection campaign film captured by cinematographer Andrew Waruszewski – and introducing model Hailey Harper as the “face” of the new collection. The runway debut will combine with a red carpet celebrity charity benefit for the “Art of Elysium“- an organization dedicated to art’s education for children with serious medical conditions.
“I’ve always been inspired to design for the woman who sees herself as a modern ‘princess’ of sorts, or at least the woman wants to dress like one for a special occasion,” says Elaine. “Inspired by my recent travels to Europe and destinations like Monte Carlo and Sorrento, I wanted to create a collection with a sense of adventure and escape- while maintaining a very feminine and elegant design aesthetic. For this collection, I’d say I’m designing for a “Bond girl”- a leading lady who appreciates the spotlight, elegance and glamour- but can definitely take care of herself. ” The SS2011 Black Label collection will showcase exquisite couture gowns and cocktail frocks in a heavy palate of blacks, metallics, and muted jewel tones.
Shooting in the Mojave desert and famous dry lake bed of El Mirage, CA, the SS2011 Black Label campaign will feature appearances and stunts by actors Wendell Moore and Brandon Drozd, and showcase the talents of makeup artist Sonia Suttles, hairstylist Sona Beglaryan, and stylist Christina Ramirez. In addition to cinematography by Andrew Waruszewski and still photography by Jeff Gottlieb, the campaign video will be produced by Adam Powell, and co-directed by Adam Powell and James Berry. Hailey Harper, who has walked in many fashion week runway shows for Lauren Elaine, will make her campaign and acting debut for the line.
The Lauren Elaine label recently showcased at LA Fashion Week for LA ‘Rocks’ Fashion Week in March 2010, with a private showing at the Key Club, and recently launched the Black Label SWIM Collection with a private runway debut on June 28th at ‘La Vida‘ in Hollywood. For the SS2011 runway debut in October, Lauren Elaine will team up with the “Art of Elysium” to present a spectacular, celebrity gala and runway presentation. The event will be held at a private venue, location confirmed upon RSVP, with more details and invitations to be released at the end of September.

I thought we had enough of the raw meat thing when Lady Gaga posed in the meat bikini (see my blog post “Lady Gaga poses in raw meat “bikini” for Vogue Hommes Japan“); however, I guess we were wrong as Lady Gaga changed into a full 40 pounds of fleshy fashion at the MTV VMAs to accept her Video of the Year. In my opinion, the media has been caught up in the sensationalism of the matter with superficial headlines and stories, but I want to know a little more to share with you. So, here you go! 🙂
Was it real meat?
YES!!!
Who’s the designer?
Franc Fernandez with styling input from Nicola Formichetti. According to MTV Style, Franc got the meat from his local butcher.
Why she wore it?
“Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations, but for me this evening … If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And I am not a piece of meat,” said Lady Gaga.
Ifelicious Thoughts
First of all, my stomach is churning as I have to endure all of these close up photos while researching details for this post. Secondly, Lady Gaga’s explanation is pure bullshit. She has proven to me that her fashion moments like this are not brillianct but just attention grabbers where an explanation is merely an afterthought.
Forget about PETA and vegans, I just think the act was completely tasteless (no pun intended) and wasteful. What comes to mind for me are all of the starving people in the world who would die for 40 pounds of meat (think about it, a quarter pounder is a pretty big burger), and she was completely wasteful and inconsiderate in the alleged name of fashion.

Diggy’s AIRBORNE has landed! Download it here!
Minus an uploading delay to the official release time, Diggy Simmons’ “Airborne” is finally available! This news is so fresh that I haven’t taken a moment to download his mixtape myself because I want you to get the news and and be able to download it now, too. Check out the release from Diggy’s camp below along with the track list and link to download “Airborne” for FREE!
Success seems to be a matter of talent and timing. I’ll be anxiously awaiting to see how this all plays out. Best wishes, Diggy! ~Ifelicious 😎

Diggy Simmons released his first mix-tape, “The First Flight” (download here) in December of 2009. Asking for no assistance from any family members, the project was put together and released on his own with his connection of friends made via the internet, as well as those with similar interests and who support him, including Diggy’s cousin Chris Classic, Mike Waxx of illroots.com and DJ Spin King. The first single off the mix-tape is “Point to Prove,” where he is expressing his struggle to prove to the world that he is his own person and he does not want to be known as Rev’s son and/or Russell’s nephew. Most kids growing up in a family of music tend to follow their parents footsteps. Diggy on the other hand is not trying to be known as just “the rapping son of a rap legend,”ill his skills on the microphone are indeed something spectacular and all of his music is written by him.
Signing to Atlantic Records and inking a management deal with Chris Lighty of Violator Management in March 2010, Diggy has continued to release music while working on #Airborne. Having worked on the first tape alone to having hands involved on the process of “Airborne” has been a challenge – not wanting to have his creative flow and ideas overshadowed, Diggy was forced to push the mix-tape back a few times. While working on the mix-tape, the young fashion icon has performed at Hot 97’s Summer Jam, was on the cover of Right On! Magazine digital publication, was a guest speaker at Pharrell’s KIDULT program, opened up for Wale at the Highline Ballroom and recently hopped on stage with Justin Bieber. Constantly having to prove himself to reluctant listeners, Diggy’s goal is just to make music and create his own name. It’s been a difficult task but the work and time put into “Airborne” has proven to be work of growth and maturity.
Previously releasing “Great Expectations” ft. Bei Maejor, “Oh Yeah” ft. Lupe & Pharrell, “Thinkin Bout” and “Little Monster” – “Airborne” is FINALLY HERE! With support from the folks over at Violator Management and Atlantic Records, #TeamDiggy truly feels this mix-tape is one that will show everyone that Diggy Simmons is his own person and can handle challenges any artist is faced with and can put out quality material any and everyone can enjoy.

Throwback Friday: “You’re Only Human” by Billy Joel (in honor of World Suicide Prevention Day)
September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day, and I wanted to big a Throwback Friday post that addressed the issue of suicide. I picked Billy Joel‘s “You’re Only Human (Second Chance)” because he cleverly took a serious topic and managed to make an upbeat sounding track about it. The song was written to address teenage suicide, something that is a matter of his own heart as you hear in the lyrics. In Billy Joel’s biography, “Billy Joel: The Life and Times of an Angry Young Man” written by Hank Bordowitz, he admits he tried to commit suicide in his early 20s by swallowing a bottle of furniture polish. His life was saved by a band member . Also, in 2009, his daughter Alexa Ray Joel swallowed a bottle of pills in an attempted suicide. (see Associated Content article, “Billy Joel’s daughter attempts suicide, as he once did as well“).
This is dedicated to anyone who has ever thought of, attempted to, or has lost a loved one to suicide. Plus, it’s a great pick me up for those days when you need a little boost.
Lyrics (source: Sing365.com)
Song: You’re Only Human (Second Chance)
You’re having a hard time and lately you don’t feel so good
You’re getting a bad reputation in your neighborhood
It’s alright, it’s alright, sometimes that’s what it takes
You’re only human, you’re allowed to make your share of mistakes
(You’re only human, ooo-ooo)
You better believe there will be times in your life
When you’ll be feeling like a stumbling fool
So take it from me you’ll learn more from your accidents
Than anything that you could ever learn at school
Don’t forget your second wind
Sooner or later you’ll get your second wind
It’s not always easy to be living in this world of pain
You’re gonna be crashing into stone walls again and again
It’s alright, it’s alright, don’t you feel your heart break
You’re only human, you’re gonna have to deal with heartache
(You’re only human, ooo-ooo)
Just like a boxer in a title fight
You got to walk in that ring all alone
You’re not the only one who’s made mistakes
But they’re the only thing that you can truly call your own
Don’t forget your second wind
Wait in your corner until that breeze blows in
You’ve been keeping to yourself these days
Cause you’re thinking everything’s gone wrong
Sometimes you just want to lay down and die
But that emotion can be so strong
But hold on ’till that old second wind comes along
(You’re only human, ooo-ooo)
You probably don’t want to hear advice from someone else
But I wouldn’t be telling you if I hadn’t been there myself
It’s alright, it’s alright, sometimes that’s what it takes
We’re only human, we’re supposed to make mistakes
(You’re only human, ooo-ooo)
I survived all those long lonely days
When it seemed I did not have a friend
Cause all I needed was a little faith
So I could catch my breath and face the world again
Don’t forget your second wind
Sooner or later you’ll feel that momentum kick in
(One more time!)
Don’t forget your second wind
Sooner or later you’ll feel that momentum kick in
Don’t forget your second wind
(You’re only human, ooo-ooo)

Ghostland Observatory’s “Codename: Rondo” out Oct 26, US tour in progress
I’m kind of diggin’ this sound! I’ll be looking forward to hearing more of Ghostland Observatory. ~Ifelicious
(image above taken from blog post form ultra8201, “Ghostland Observatory To Have CD Release Party at Cedar Park Center Next Month“)
Ghostland put on an absolutely killer display, complete with the trademark Electro/Pop/Punk beats that leave you helpless against the desire to shake your ass. ~The Huffington Post
The fourth CD from Ghostland Observatory, “Codename: Rondo,” will be released on Trashy Moped Recordings/Sony Red Distribution on October 26th, 2010. Ghostland Observatory is not a band but an agreement between two friends to create something that not only heals their beat-driven hearts, but pleases their rock ‘n roll souls. They have been described as everything from “Freddie Mercury helms Daft Punk” to what you would get if “Rage Against The Machine mated with the Spice Girls.” One could say they are indescribably good. Essentially melding the distinct personalities of its two members – Thomas Ross Turner and Aaron Behrens – Ghostland Observatory continues to produce a style of music that exists first and foremost in their collective consciousnesses – Emile Durkheim would understand. It was recorded with what Turner calls a more linear approach, using fewer sounds while making each one count. The result is equal parts psychedelia, minimal electronic, rock, funk and soul. Indescribably good.
Ghostland Observatory have played major festivals including Lollapalooza, Bonaroo, Coachella and the Austin City Limits music festival, where they headlined. The duo’s legendarily electrifying live shows have captivated audiences across the country. In fact Spin Magazine has praised the two for being “a handful both on and offstage, rousing feet and bodies to their electro grooves.”
On September 2, 2010, they kicked off a tour in support of “Codename: Rondo,” the latest album in their collection of genre-bending music. The tour will take them across the U.S. and to the end of the year, giving their ever-growing league of fans ample opportunity to shake their ass. Coming to a town near you…

I’ve been gushing over Diggy Simmons who seems to be doing well carrying the Simmons legacy. Willow Smith, the mohawk rockin’, mega stylin’ daughter of Will and Jada Smith, seems to be doing the same. I just took a moment to listen to her song “Whip My Hair” and was instantly hooked! The song is definitely a hit! Ryan Seacrest interviewed Willow and Jay-Z this morning on his radio show where the rumors were confirmed that Willow has been signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label.
Listen to the interview below (it’s about 15 mins total). Willow has that same “it” factor that Justin Bieber has and other stars like Michael Jackson had in their early years. You can’t help but to fall in love with her and the song.
On-Air with Ryan Seacrest on 102.7 KIIS FM – Ryan’s Interviews Willow Smith and Jay-Z
People are worried that she’s too young. That could be an issue, but I feel less concerned about that considering that she’s coming out of the parenting umbrella of Will and Jada. I’ve also read where she’s being compared to Rihanna. Golly gee willakers! When are people going to get past the “all black people look alike” thing? Besides the fact that she has a mohawk and that’s she’s doing kind of a pop thing, there’s nothing similar about her voice or sense of style. I say that honestly, having listened to the song before reading reviews. It never crossed my mind. If you listen to “Whip My Hair” it has more of a hip hop vibe to it.
Without further ado, here’s the much talked about single, “Whip My Hair.”
Whip My Hair – Willow Smith by Rap-Up
I’d love this single to be made into a video!
